Did you know that Bratislava is home to one of the best secondary schools in Slovakia? Thousands of applicants apply to this school every year, but only the top 150 are accepted. They select only the best of the best and provide them with the best possible conditions for their education and development.
After many years, the school decided to renovate the floor in its entrance hall. It was time to replace the old ceramic tiles with a new floor. The school management decided to do this as they do everything else – properly. So they removed the old tiles right down to the original subfloor, which they levelled with a levelling compound.
A problem arose when they discovered that the levelling compound had cracked because the entire floor was shifting. Consequently, it was impossible to install any flooring that would be permanently fixed to the subfloor. They needed a solution that would allow for loose-lay installation. At the same time, they required the floor to be tasteful and to complement the school’s playful and elegant design.
The solution for them was the Fortelock Business floor. Tiles that can be laid freely without gluing or fixing. The tiles are durable and robust, designed for high-traffic areas such as school premises. You can choose from more than 50 design options, complemented by three colour shades for the grout between the tiles.
“We wanted a floor that could be laid freely and would suit the school’s design.”
The school opted for the elegant Galibier T95 design with graphite-coloured joints. This older model was replaced in 2024 by the new Sauda Cold Lava G003 design, which is currently one of the best-selling designs.
