Ekoternit is not eternit

History:

• Eternit was first developed in 1901 in Switzerland, so it is more than 120 years old. It has a long history, but not a very good reputation because of the materials used in the past.
• Ekoternit is a modern, eco-friendly roofing alternative that has been manufactured for over 30 years.

Material:

• Eternit is a material composed of cement, water and fibres – so-called fibre cement. Asbestos fibres used to be used; they were banned because of their health risks and other types of fibre are used today.
• Ekoternit is made from PVC material. Because we are aware of how important it is to protect our environment, we use recycled plastic as the input raw material in production, and it is further refined during the manufacturing process. This plastic would otherwise end up in landfills. By processing it, we „bring it back to life“. In the case of the EB2 STRONG version, it is a through-coloured composite.

Properties:

• Eternit is a lightweight building material, resistant to weather, water and fire, but compared with PVC materials it is brittle.
• Ekoternit is also characterised by light weight, strength and high resistance to weather and fire. On top of that, however, it is flexible, unbreakable and does not crack.
