Interlocking PVC flooring – the ideal floor for trade fairs and exhibitions
Do you take part in exhibitions and trade fairs throughout the year? Whenever your exhibition season falls during the year, it is a good idea to prepare for it well in advance. Those few days in which we all place our trust can bring success, but also disappointment. If you do not leave the design and installation of your stand to an external company but try to put it together yourself, the preparation is all the more demanding and it is essential to consider every detail.
We cannot guarantee you a stand that will attract visitors and be 100% functional. We can, however, help you with its floor – the portable Fortelock flooring, which will not strain your budget at a time when every penny counts, will withstand the rush of visitors, can be laid by yourself, and after the exhibition can be dismantled and stored for next time. Let us take a closer look at it.
Assemble and dismantle without limits and to your own liking
Many people are looking for an ordinary floor, but mobile floors that can be transported anywhere, assembled, used, dismantled and taken away again are far less common. It is therefore no wonder that few people are familiar with this area. One of the alternatives for a portable floor is Fortelock PVC tiles.
On the market you will find mobile floor coverings specially designed for sports surfaces, exhibitions, dance halls or other uses. However, this route tends to be used by organisations that host such events regularly. If you plan to use the floor occasionally on various occasions, and not only at exhibitions, it is better to buy something more versatile. Fortelock flooring, among its other advantages, offers precisely this versatility of use. You can therefore use it not only when presenting your products or services at trade fairs, exhibitions or in showrooms.
Floor construction
There are many types of material you can choose, whether in the form of boards or tiles. A small difference at first glance, but pay attention to your convenience. If you need something compact, opt instead for tiles, which can be easily assembled and taken apart. You buy exactly as many as you need for a given area. If it turns out that next time you need to cover a different-sized area, you can easily add or remove tiles. Thanks to their dimensions, they fit comfortably into your car or onto a pallet, and when transporting them you will not need anyone else's help.
What should guide your choice of a suitable floor?
Speed of installation
You need to assemble and dismantle the floor quickly; there is no room or time to delay. As soon as the fair management grants access to the exhibition grounds, only a few days – or even hours – remain to set up your stand. Most mobile floors use an interlocking tile system, similar to Fortelock PVC flooring. With Fortelock flooring, however, you do not need anything special to lay the floor. A rubber mallet is all you need to help the tiles click into place. For the areas around walls or corners, an ordinary cutting knife will suffice. You can lay the flooring directly onto the wooden or concrete floor of the exhibition grounds. In doing so, you even protect the original floor, which visitors will not damage and which will not leave you with any additional costs.
Design
If you have ever visited, or regularly visit, an exhibition, you will surely have noticed that some companies or sole traders have their stand built on their own base.
Using your own floor has several advantages when it comes to design as well. You can use it to catch visitors' attention, set yourself apart from the competition, or even match the floor to your company colours. The tiles can be combined with one another.
Portability of the flooring
Fortelock flooring is light and easy to move, simple to dismantle; you stack the individual pieces on top of each other and, because they measure a maximum of 51 cm x 51 cm, you can store them wherever you like.
High durability
Flooring that you will frequently take apart, transport and use at exhibitions, social events or other occasions should be able to take some punishment. Expect heavy loads, and not only in terms of weight. Besides having tables, chairs, fully stocked shelving and other heavy items standing on it, it must also withstand, for example, the high, thin heels of the ladies. And if you, or one of the exhibition visitors, should manage to damage your mobile floor, the solution is simple – instead of replacing the entire floor, you just replace the single damaged piece!
Durable interlocks
The joints between the individual pieces of flooring must be durable too. The floor will be assembled and dismantled frequently, and Fortelock responds to this: its specially designed interlocks do not change shape and create a firm connection even after a long period of use. Since you will always join them using the aforementioned rubber mallet, you need not fear that frequent assembling and dismantling will damage them. You will therefore be able to use the floor for several years, easily adapt it to the size of your stand, and, should any piece be destroyed after all, simply replace it with a new one.
Anti-slip finish
Last but not least, safety must be considered. It does not matter where the floor is placed. Whether you want to use the floor at an exhibition, a birthday party or anywhere else, if it does not slip underfoot you have one less thing to worry about. Fortelock with an anti-slip finish is ideal even for areas with high demands, and can at least partly help prevent possible accidents.
Mobile flooring – other uses
You experience countless situations in which it would be handy to have a piece of flooring with you, and at certain moments a firm surface underfoot would give you greater comfort. The advantage of a mobile floor is that you can use it not only as a business owner but also as a private individual for your personal purposes. In addition to everyday uses, e.g. as a floor for a garage or workshop, Fortelock also finds use as a floor for various social events.
When organising various birthday parties for which you have large marquees ready, a mobile floor would be a great temporary addition. The marquee protects not only your guests but also the PVC flooring from rain and direct sunlight. The flooring, in turn, makes staying in the marquee more pleasant for everyone involved, for example while standing and chatting at cocktail tables. Fortelock can also be an ideal helper when hosting events in rented premises such as community halls or gymnasiums. Thanks to the portable flooring, you can transform these spaces beyond recognition and adapt them to the atmosphere of the event.
