New: Industry Ultra – tiles for heavy industrial loads
Fortelock Industry Ultra
Workshops, garages, fitness centres, stores, showrooms — customers can use Fortelock Industry tiles in all of these spaces. Often, however, they are looking for a solution for warehouses and production areas subject to heavier loads. At the same time, they need a solution that does not have to be fixed down or glued. It is precisely for them that we are introducing a new addition to our PVC tile portfolio: Fortelock Industry Ultra.
Fortelock Industry Ultra tiles are based on the popular Industry range. They have the same tile and interlock shape, but crucially, they differ in thickness. They are up to 40% thicker than the standard tile, giving a total thickness of up to 10 mm. This makes them ideal for areas where heavier industrial pallet trucks and forklifts are used.
And what is the biggest advantage? When handling low-lift pallet trucks, no fixing or gluing is required. The tiles can withstand a load of up to 2,200 kg, which in many cases is the maximum capacity of a pallet truck. Compared with the standard Fortelock Industry tiles, this is up to 4 times higher load resistance. What is more, under the load of standard forklifts they can handle up to 5,500 kg without gluing or fixing.
Fortelock Industry Ultra is available in 8 colours, three surface patterns, and also in the ECO variant — tiles made from recycled materials.

Industry Ultra parameters at a glance
Industry Ultra is a homogeneous 100% PVC tile with a visible lock. The dimensions including the locks are 510.5 × 510.5 mm, 1 m² takes 4 tiles, the thickness is 10 mm and the weight approximately 3.1 kg. The underside features the Air-Flow system, which carries moisture to the surface via ventilation channels. The slip resistance is R10 and the reaction to fire Bfl-s1. Before using the floor with specific trucks, the technical data sheet recommends testing it, which is what our loan of up to 5 m² of tiles for a month is for.
Frequently asked questions
How thick is a Fortelock Industry Ultra tile?
Industry Ultra is 10 mm thick and is the most massive tile in the Fortelock range. The standard Industry is 7 mm. The shape of the tile and locks is the same for both ranges: 510.5 × 510.5 mm including the locks and 4 tiles per square metre.
Can Industry Ultra withstand forklift traffic without gluing?
Yes, it is designed for warehouses with forklifts, production halls and continuous operation. According to the technical data sheet, when loose-laid it can take an electric forklift with PU wheels of up to 2,900 kg and a forklift with pneumatic tyres of up to 5,500 kg, always including the weight of the truck. Higher loads require an individual technical assessment; you will find the values in the Fortelock technical data sheet.
What is the difference between Fortelock Industry and Industry Ultra?
Mainly thickness and load capacity. Industry is 7 mm and 2.3 kg, Industry Ultra 10 mm and 3.1 kg, with the same dimensions and lock. When loose-laid, Industry can handle a pallet truck with PU wheels of up to 500 kg, Industry Ultra up to 1,300 kg. Both ranges can take vehicles with pneumatic tyres of up to 6,600 kg.
When does Industry Ultra need to be glued?
Only in specific conditions. In most operations, loose laying without adhesive is sufficient and the floor is ready for full load straight away. It is glued in spots with direct sunlight, near heat sources, where indoor temperatures fluctuate by more than 15 °C, and for use class 43, where full-surface gluing is required.
Is Industry Ultra also made from recycled PVC?
Yes, in the ECO Classic version made from 98% recycled PVC, in Black, Blue, Brown, Graphite and Grey. The load from electric trucks on these tiles should not exceed a total weight of 2,500 kg.
