A project that helps
At the beginning of 2021, wheelchair user and Paralympian Radim Běleš started looking for funding to buy a newer car for the clients of the non-profit APROPO, z.s., because their old adapted Ford Transit had reached the end of its life. Fortemix decided to support wheelchair users and donate CZK 50,000 from its corporate philanthropy programme towards the purchase of a car with a lift platform. This meaningful project and our one-off contribution significantly helped fund the car, and the new vehicle will be officially launched in July.
The mission of the APROPO z. s. association is to provide an outreach personal assistance service to people with reduced self-sufficiency due to a health condition or physical disability and to support them in their efforts to live in their own home environment. At its offices, APROPO also offers everyone a free information service covering all areas of life with a physical disability. Last but not least, they also provide reconditioning stays in barrier-free facilities in various parts of the Czech Republic. People with physical disabilities thus have the opportunity to meet others and, through arranged personal assistance, can experience an independent way of living away from home.
