Fortega Neo combines modern design, low weight and an eco-friendly approach. It is made from a plastic composite supplemented with aluminium from recycled beverage cartons (supplied by Tetra Pak), which enhances the durability and lifespan of the roof cladding.

Large-format composite roofing has been used in Canada for over 40 years in extremely harsh climatic conditions. Among other things, the aluminium in the composite contributes to its durability.

RapidTOP’s unique interlocking system significantly speeds up installation. Installation is simpler and can even be carried out by the homeowner.

Fortega Neo provides better noise protection than metal roofing and improves acoustic comfort indoors. Its low weight reduces the load on the roof structure, simplifies logistics and shortens installation time.

Fortega Neo – lightweight large-format roofing tiles made from recycled packaging

Replacing a roof is a demanding task – heavy tiles put a strain on the roof structure, installation takes weeks, and the process has to be repeated every few decades. Fortega Neo offers a different solution: large-format panels made from a composite of plastic and aluminium derived from recycled beverage cartons weigh just 6.7 kg/m². The material used to manufacture the roofing was developed in collaboration with Tetra Pak from recycled beverage cartons. Only about 3 tiles per square metre are needed, so installation is quick and the roof structure is exposed to the weather for a shorter period. The RapidTOP interlocking system guides the roofer, improving both watertightness and wind resistance. The composite also dampens the sound of rain and hail.

A roof for harsh climates and modern homes

Designed to withstand heat, frost, damp, wind and hail. The technology has been tried and tested in Canada for over 40 years. The aluminium in the composite enhances resistance to impact, UV rays and thermal shock. The material is flexible, does not crack, does not absorb moisture, does not rust and retains its colour. Its low weight eliminates the need to reinforce the roof structure (particularly in renovation projects). Suitable for new builds and renovations of houses, cottages, timber structures, pergolas, canopies and façades.

Key benefits

Lightweight and durable – no load on the roof structure

It weighs only around 6.7 kg/m² (compared to standard tiles at 40–50 kg/m²), so it is usually not necessary to reinforce the roof structure.

RapidTOP lock

The RapidTOP locking system ensures precision, improved weatherproofing and wind resistance. The tight fit between the panels prevents water ingress.

A quiet and comfortable roof

It dampens the sound of rain and hail much more effectively than sheet metal and helps to stabilise the temperature in the attic – it retains heat in winter and heats up more slowly in summer.

Modern design made from recycled packaging

Clean, modern lines for new builds and renovations. Colours:TetraBlack, TetraGraphite, TetraGrey and TetraRed. Made from recycled beverage cartons, this material gives waste a new lease of life.

Warranty and service life

Lifespan of 30–50 years. Fortega Neo comes with a 25-year guarantee, confirming its long-term durability and colour fastness.

Quick installation

Thanks to its light weight and large size, installation is quick. Simpler roofs can be installed by yourself; for more complex ones, we recommend using a roofer.

How to install Fortega Neo roofing tiles correctly

Fortega Neo is designed for pitched roofs with a slope of 20° or more. Installation is carried out using standard roofing methods on battens or formwork, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Thanks to its low weight and large format, the roof is completed quickly and handling the material is significantly easier than with traditional heavy tiles.

The RapidTOP locking system guides roofers during installation, ensuring precise fitting and reducing the risk of errors. The technical data sheet specifies the appropriate substrate, the method of fixing, and recommended details for the ridge, corners and penetrations.

Many simpler gable roofs can be safely installed by yourself, provided you follow the installation instructions. For larger or more complex roofs, we recommend hiring a professional roofer to ensure that all the details are handled correctly.

A quick comparison of options

A comparison of Fortega with standard roofing materials

When choosing roofing materials, people most often compare metal sheets, tiles, shingles and fibre cement. Whilst metal sheets are lightweight, they are noisy and prone to corrosion or overheating, whereas Fortega Neo offers better sound insulation and thermal comfort. Tiles are significantly heavier and place a greater load on the roof structure, whereas Fortega Neo is lightweight, easy to handle and does not crack. Compared to shingles and fibre cement, it stands out for its longer lifespan, greater durability and quicker installation. Below you will find a table comparing the basic properties of our roofing materials with those of our competitors.
