Garage flooring

Are you choosing a new floor for your garage and want to be sure that your investment will remain durable and functional for years to come? Fortelock PVC tiles are a modern and practical solution. This garage flooring meets the expectations of every garage owner looking for quality, durability and aesthetics.

Fast and simple installation

The installation of Fortelock tiles is designed to be quick and trouble-free. The tiles are simply connected thanks to the interlocking system and require no gluing or special tools. This means you can lay the floor yourself in a single day and start using it immediately.

What to bear in mind before installing in a garage

Do not lay the tiles straight after delivery. Let them acclimatise in the garage for at least 48 hours at 18–26 °C, taken off the pallet and spread out in smaller stacks. The substrate must not be colder than 15 °C during installation. Leave a 10 mm expansion gap at walls, columns and shelving, which will be covered by a skirting strip. Where the sun shines in or where a heat source acts, such as the catalytic converter of a parked car, the tiles are glued down, because PVC expands with heat. Ramps ensure a smooth transition at the entrance and also protect the edge of the tiles.

Durable garage flooring

The high resistance of the tiles is ideal for garages used for vehicle maintenance, storing heavy tools or as a workspace for various projects. The tiles are designed to withstand high mechanical loads and short-term exposure to chemicals, which is ideal for the garage environment.

Original look and design

Do you want your garage to look great and reflect your personality or the style of your car? Fortelock offers a wide range of colours and patterns, so you can create a floor exactly to your liking. Whether you prefer a classic black look, vivid colours or a combination of different shades, Fortelock will meet your aesthetic requirements. Also popular is tile printing, which will make your garage completely unique.

Easy maintenance and long service life

Fortelock PVC tiles are designed to last for many years while remaining easy to maintain. Thanks to their smooth surface, all you need to clean them is water and ordinary cleaning products. In the event of damage, you can simply replace the damaged tile without having to repair the entire floor.

Frequently asked questions

Which Fortelock tile should I choose for my garage?

Fortelock Industry is designed for the heaviest loads and workshop use, and when loose-laid it can carry a car of up to 6,600 kg. Invisible has a hidden lock and looks like a seamless surface; it can carry cars of up to 3,500 kg. The large-format XL is suitable for a level substrate and lighter loads.

Can a PVC garage floor withstand oil and petrol?

Yes. The surface of Fortelock tiles is highly resistant to oils, petrol and common chemicals, and liquids do not soak into the material. Wipe up spilled oil or petrol as soon as possible, however, because long-term exposure to petroleum-based substances can cause discolouration or deformation of the tiles.

Can I lay a garage floor myself?

Yes. The tiles click together, usually without glue or complicated equipment, and you can lay them gradually, section by section. All you need is a rubber mallet and a knife or saw for the perimeter tiles. The step-by-step procedure is described in the article A DIY garage floor.

What if one tile in the garage gets damaged?

Only that one piece is replaced. A damaged tile can be removed and replaced with a new one even in the middle of the floor, without dismantling the whole floor, within a few minutes according to the manufacturer. It is worth keeping a few tiles in reserve after installation, as the colour may vary slightly between production batches.

Will water and snow dripping off the car harm the tiles?

Small amounts of water are not a problem; with tiles featuring the Air-Flow system, they evaporate. Larger amounts need to be wiped up, or the tiles in that spot lifted and the water underneath dried. The tiles are water-resistant but not watertight, so water can get through the joints. This is explained in more detail in the article on resistance to water and moisture.

How can I see what the floor will look like in my garage?

Use the online visualiser: upload a photo of your garage and change the floor colour. You can examine the material on an 8 × 8 cm sample, or borrow up to 5 m² of tiles for a month and try them out on site. The configurator will calculate the number of tiles you need.
