Fortega Tradition is designed to withstand summer heat, winter frost, UV radiation and heavy rain. The plastic and aluminium composite from Tetra Pak beverage cartons is non-absorbent, corrosion-resistant and does not degrade in the same way as some conventional materials. The roof is not at risk of disintegration, swelling or flaking of the surface layers. Thanks to its format and low weight, you get a significantly lower weight per unit area than with clay or concrete tiles, which is a major advantage for the renovation of older roofs or timber structures with limited load-bearing capacity.
Thanks to the 415 × 415 mm format and a weight of approximately 0.7 kg per panel (about 8.4 panels/m²), you get a weight per unit area of around 6 kg/m²—which is significantly less than that of clay or concrete tiles, which typically place a load of 40–50 kg/m² on the roof structure. This is a major advantage for renovations of older roofs or wooden structures with limited load-bearing capacity.
