We have received the Recovinyl certificate for recycling PVC waste

For a long time, Fortemix  has focused on the processing of used PVC material to manufacture new patented products, with the aim of preserving the sustainability of resources and reducing waste.

PVC is one of the most widely used plastics in the world, with a broad range of applications and a long service life. Thanks to its irreplaceable properties, it is used extensively in the construction industry as well as in the sports and medical sectors. One of the advantages of PVC material is that it can be recycled repeatedly, several times over.

Thanks to recycling, we save more than 2,400,000 kg of plastic from landfill or incineration every year. We have been engaged in recycling activities since 1999. Not only are we able to reuse waste and production rejects, but we also offer customers a take-back scheme for our products under the Tile take-back programme. Customers can return the products we have manufactured that they no longer need and that would otherwise end up in landfill. In this way, we give our customers the opportunity to join us in a voluntary recycling commitment and in protecting the environment.

Thanks to our recycling activities, we have obtained the Recovinyl certificate. Recovinyl is an accredited organisation founded in 2003 by VinylPlus®. Recovinyl certifies companies that recycle PVC waste, as well as companies that purchase recycled PVC in order to manufacture new PVC products. In 2018, 734,568 tonnes of PVC were recycled in Europe. The target set for 2020 is 800,000 tonnes of PVC.
