We Supported a Project Against Domestic Violence

Lumpíkov is not only about children. It is also about women who want to return to work after maternity or parental leave. The labour market is constantly evolving, and returning to a job can be especially challenging after several years. We help with this through educational courses subsidised by the European Social Fund.

Fortemix supported another of this non-profit's projects, one that helps women experiencing domestic violence.

Words from the director of Lumpíkov: „At first it looks like love out of a movie. Later, however, it can turn into a nightmare. And not only for the woman, but also for her children.

When we started fighting domestic violence in Frýdek-Místek, we thought one or two women would need help. Lately, however, almost every week a woman reaches out to us asking for help. Sometimes it is psychological abuse, when the man locks her at home, threatens her or throws her out of the house; other times it is physical violence, when the woman ends up in hospital. In this constant fear live not only the woman, but also her children. Fear of falling asleep, fear of saying anything, fear of what will come next.

We provide women with free legal aid, representation in court and psychological support for them and their children. The hardest task is then finding alternative housing, because becoming financially stable is extremely demanding for them.„
