The project of training dogs for the detection of cancer and Alzheimer's disease is a groundbreaking initiative that harnesses dogs' ability to identify tumours early, often before they are detectable by conventional medical methods. The training is rigorous, grounded in scientific principles, and focuses primarily on hard-to-diagnose types of cancer such as lung and ovarian cancer. In this respect, the centre for signal animals is one of the pioneers and even offers the public the chance to get involved.
