A luxury tuning build deserves a luxury floor

tuning_1080x1080_FB

Whether you approach tuning as a DIY hobby or work in amateur or professional workshops, as a true tuning enthusiast your luxury car deserves an equally luxurious garage. A garage like that can't do without the details that give it a stylish look, and the foundation of any such garage is a beautiful floor.

Our Fortelock floors are made for exactly this. You can mix and match the PVC tiles in different colours and create patterns on the floor to suit your own taste. You can even coordinate the floor stylishly with your car. The icing on the cake is the option to print the floor with any graphics you like – whether you prefer a brand logo or a photo of your car.

The floor is hard-wearing, dampens any noise and is very easy to maintain. Another major advantage is the ability to replace individual tiles in the event of accidental damage. If you love working on your car yourself, you'll also appreciate laying the Fortelock floor on your own. It installs very easily and you'll be just as proud of your work as you are of your “pride and joy”.

Take a look at our Fortelock Industry range, which is the best fit for tuned garages!

What to know about printing a garage floor

Fortelock offers two types of floor tile printing. CUSTOM prints your own graphics, which must be supplied in print resolution, i.e. as vector curves or at 300 dpi. Logos, warning symbols, direction signs and photographs are commonly printed this way. GRANIT is a set of three standard speckled patterns that visually break up a uniform surface. For printing, Industry tiles with a leather texture and Invisible or XL tiles with a snakeskin texture are recommended. In a garage, place the print away from the main driving route, as its durability depends on how intensively the area is used. In high-traffic areas, the print must be treated with PU lacquer, which is a recommended part of the final finish for printed tiles.

Frequently asked questions

What colours do PVC garage floor tiles come in?

The Industry, Industry Ultra, Invisible and XL ranges are made in Black, Blue, Graphite, Green, Grey, Rosso Red and Yellow. By combining colours, you can create patterns, parking spaces or lanes on the floor. You can see how a combination will look in your garage by uploading a photo of the room to the visualiser.

Which tile should I choose so that the locks are not visible on the floor?

The Invisible range with a hidden lock. Once laid, the joints run in straight lines and the surface looks like a single continuous area with no jigsaw effect. The snakeskin texture with a subtle sheen also hides minor dirt and scratches. You will find the specifications on the page Fortelock Invisible.

Does PVC flooring in a garage reduce noise and cold?

Yes. PVC dampens noise and machine vibration and acts as a thermal insulator with a conductivity similar to laminate, so the floor does not feel cold. The thermal conductivity of Fortelock tiles is 0.155 W/(m·K). Anyone who kneels or lies on the garage floor while working on a car will appreciate this.

Can I lay the floor in a tuning garage myself?

Yes. The tiles click together, usually without glue, and installation does not require any complicated equipment. Industry tiles are laid from the entrance along two perpendicular lines running from the centre of the room and are tapped into place with a rubber mallet. The step-by-step procedure is described in the article How to Lay Fortelock Tiles Easily and Correctly?

Can a Fortelock floor cope with a car lift and tools?

Yes, the floor is designed for daily workshop use, including lifts, ramps and tools. The compressive point load is 520 kg/cm² for all ranges, and no foot or leg of a lift should exceed this value. A damaged tile can be replaced at any time.
